Estate Planning during uncertain times. What in the world is going on? One day, we are living our best lives, freedom, liberty, and an economy that just would not quit. Then, enter stage left, Covid-19. It seems, at least for many of us, that our world was uprooted and flipped on its head. Staying at home, wearing a mask, shutting down a robust economy, disease, death, children out of school, and more. It seems like a bad nightmare, or maybe a script from Hollywood.
If this summarizes how you are feeling right now, you are not alone. For many of us, there is an air of uncertainty falling on us like a heavy fog. I definitely do not have all the answers, but I think it is during times like these that we can help the most. Whatever your profession, vocation, or skills, what can you bring to the table to help others find peace of mind?
When I ask myself this question, of course so much of what I do on a daily basis is designed specifically for times like these. Uncertain times.
The next couple of paragraphs are going to be a reminder for many of you, but maybe a call to action for others. We encourage you to share this post, and more importantly, add a comment or link to how you help people achieve peace of mind during uncertain times.
Now, or later, most of us are going to need help navigating the complex world of estate planning. Our office works with families, of all sizes and shapes, to help them achieve peace of mind through careful planning. We do this by helping them design an overall strategy to care for those they will one day leave behind. And, by helping them navigate the often-murky waters of administering a loved one’s estate after they pass.
Estate Planning during uncertain times means our office has had to make some adjustments. Right now, we are conducting our planning sessions either by telephone or in-person as long as you are comfortable. We are still holding our signing ceremonies in the office but have added additional precautions. It means sanitizing the office after each visitor and at least daily. For those unable to come to the office, we can work out a way to come to you in a safe way. Lastly, it means answering a lot of calls and emails to help our community alleviate stress.
The Covid-19 pandemic will subside and be a subchapter in history books before too long. Yet, right now, we cannot seem to get far enough away from it. My passion is helping people achieve peace of mind through legal tools like wills, trusts, powers of attorneys, beneficiary deeds, estate administration, and more. For me, Estate Planning during uncertain times, is all I do.
